In a blog post, Hyperwallet touched on Visa’s efforts to improve real-time payment technology:

“It is something that our friends over at Visa take very seriously. So seriously that they unveiled their new Visa Direct platform, a real-time payments system backed by one of the world’s largest electronic payment networks. Visa Direct makes it easy for businesses to not just receive, but also send funds in real-time,” Hyperwallet wrote.

Hyperwallet uses Visa Direct as the foundation of its new Transfer to Debit Card payout method, and provides API documentation to guide developers through the implementation of transferring funds using Visa Direct.

The bank card object lets you transfer funds to a debit card. Read Hyperwallet’s API documentation, which highlights and guides you through the following capabilities: List Bank Card, Create a Bank Card, Retrieve a Bank Card, and Update a Bank Card.

Make sure to also create an account for Hyperwallet’s developer sandbox beforehand and save some time for coding and building your payout solution at the event. It is only an 8-hour hackathon, so you need all the time!

Do not forget: this is all for a good cause. The hackathon challenges developers to collaborate and experiment with emerging payout technologies to create a faster, safer, and smarter payout solution capable of helping charitable organizations distribute funds to individuals impacted by a disaster.

Meet our team, build with us and compete for cash prizes!

Visa Direct and Hyperwallet will be on-site with staff to help you win, but if you have any questions beforehand, feel free to email visadeveloper@visa.com
