Over 600 developers will pack the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on October 21st to compete in the Money 20/20 Hackathon.

If you’ve never been to the Money 20/20 Hackathon, consider going next year (tickets are sold out for 2016). This hackathon is pretty cool; they take the hackathon competition to the next level. Here’s how it works

  • There are 9 hackathon sponsors with different challenges and prizes
  • The developers choose which challenge they will compete for
  • Each Sponsor chooses two teams as their challenge winners, who also advance to the General Session round
  • These top teams then compete against each other for the top 5 Money 20/20 hackathon prizes

Lots at stake, not only with prizes but recognition of winning such a big Fintech hackathon. hackathon.jpg

The Visa Developer Squad

This year, the Visa Developer team launched a plan to help hackathon developers prepare for the hackathon...and hopefully win!

We’re doing this through four webinars before the event. Plus, a team of technical, product and UX experts at the hackathon to help with any questions developers may have while coding and designing their prototypes.

Our pre-hackathon webinars will cover four topics. Developing on Visa Developer, Payments 101, Technology Mashups and How to Win a Hackathon. Click here to register for these webinars. We know you are busy, so if you can’t attend it live, we will be providing the recordings. If you can, join us. Even if you’re not going to be at the hackathon this will be a great way for you to interact and meet our team!

Prizes

I’ve saved the best for last, prizes. Aside from the $125,000 cash prizes Money 20/20 hackathon organizers will be awarding to top teams, Visa will award the top two teams who win the Visa Challenge a Visa Prize package, which will include a trip to Orlando, prepaid Visa cards and Microsoft Hololenses. Check out the full list of prizes and Terms and Conditions here.

Stay tuned for more information on the webinars, plus pictures and updates of the hackathon winners!
