Data update time

Hello, please tell me, we have now tested the end-point for requesting exchange rates.

When I switch to end-point production, will the currency rate data (request for a currency pair) be returned at a specific request time, will it be new or will the currency rate for the pair be the same for the whole day?

I didn't find this information in the documentation.

Thank you in advance for your response!

Re: Data update time

Hi @greenking95,

Assuming this is in the context of Visa Direct OCTs. The FX rate files are updated once a day excluding weekend and three U.S. holidays (Memorial, New Year and Christmas days). For the weekends and holidays previous cycle day is used. The file is updated daily between 22 and 00 GMT time. Please note that using the FX API inquiry message doesn’t guarantee the rates and currently we don’t hold rates. If the inquiry and payload transaction are submitted outside above window, most likely the rate used in the inquiry is the one that will be used during transaction processing.

Thanks,

Tee

Re: Data update time

Hi, @API_Managers Thanks for the answer.

I meant exchange rates that belong to the foreignexchangerates system
(/forexrates/v2/foreignexchangerates).

Re: Data update time

Hi @greenking95,

Foreign Exchange Rates are sourced once a day from the treasury tables no later than Midnight GMT on weekdays excluding Memorial Day, Christmas and New Year. The final rate for any given transaction going through VisaNet could vary – depending on other factors such as fees levied by the issuer, acquirer, processors, product type (credit/debit) as well as the authorization and settlement windows. These rates should be used for indicative purposes only.

Thanks,

Tee
