Getting Cardholder transaction data at offer participating merchants using token (not card no)
I did post a similar question in another forum but it seems the Payment 101 & use case is a place where i can give visibility to my question.
Is it possible to use the Visa Offers Platform API (mainly enrollment, Offer API & Outbound messaging-RTM) by placing a request to these APIs using a token (or some secure anonymised number) instead of the actual card no/PAN.
We are a loyalty solution provider in the process of PCI certification and we have a client with the above use case. Our management wants us to evaluate the use case till the time we are not fully certified. We also took help of external experts who told us that it is possible with help of some vault/token service providers.
The answer to your question is, "yes". For clients using Visa Token Service (VTS) as Token Vault, we can use token enrollment as a method. VOP is already integrated with VTS. Enroll API on VDP should have all the information.
New Token enrollment method is when the clients want to send all the PANs and a corresponding non-PII value in advance. During enrollment, they can pass the non-PII value mapped to the PAN, VOP looks up the PAN and processes the enrollment request. ETA for updated API to be available on VDP is Q2 FY19.
