Hi Diana,
I am still awaiting your responses on my previous set of just 3 final questions. Please respond to them ASAP so I can get moving on my side.
Greatly appreciate your swift responses to my questions.
Thanks.
Hello @sapandesai,
Please see my inline comments.
1. Can we use Visa Direct PushFundsTransactions POST API (or any other relevant Visa Direct API) to send payouts from our website to the below listed card types (both debit / credit type of cards) of customers across the world in any currencies?
Visa - Yes (only within the U.S. or originating from the U.S.)
American Express - No
Mastercard - Yes (only within the U.S. or originating from the U.S.)
Maestro - Yes (only within the U.S. or originating from the U.S.)
Discover - No
Or we can currently only send payments to Visa cards and no other card types are supported at this stage through Visa Direct API?
That's a good question! OCT can be pushed to Visa card (only a few card types are not allowed) around the world. OCT to Mastercard is only currently available in U.S. via a special gateway. The rest of the cards are not supported.
2. Is there any possibility to jump on a call for 30 minutes to quickly discuss few additional questions I have at all? Feels like a call will be much easier to resolve all my outstanding questions / clarifications rather than having back and forth over this channel.
I understand that you would like to have a phone call with us, however, developer support is typically only provided via email communication only, unless, of course, in some certain special circumstances where I will be permitted to jump on a call. Please feel free to continue posting questions in the community forum, look for Q&A in the community forum or reach out to us at Developer@visa.com. Someone will be happy to work with you and provide you with the answers that you need.
3. Once I fill out the questionaire, what happens next?
Someone from the Visa Direct team will reach out to you on the next step.
Thanks,
Diana
Hi Diana,
Thanks for getting back. An additional question listed below:
You said "Yes (only within the U.S. or originating from the U.S.)" for Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards. Not exactly clear what you mean by this. Can you please elaborate further?
Our service which is hosted in the UK based web servers, will be invoking this Visa Direct API to send payouts. Does this mean, the OCT transaction is originating from UK?
When you say, only within US or originating from the U.S., do we need to setup a bank account (acquirer) to be based in US? If yes, by setting up a US based acquirer, can we still send card payments to Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards across the world or even with a US acquirer, we can only send payouts to these cards in US market ONLY?
Also, is there any limit on the amount that we can send to these cards via Visa Direct API?
Thanks.
Hi Diana,
You gave me kudos for my last message containing few questions but did not respond to them.
Could you please respond to my latest questions from my previous post ASAP?
Thanks,
Sapan
Hi @sapandesai,
Please see my inline comments.
1. You said "Yes (only within the U.S. or originating from the U.S.)" for Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards. Can you please elaborate further?
Visa Direct PushFundsTransactions POST API can send payouts to Visa, Mastercard and Maestro if this transaction is completed within the United States or if the transaction was initiated from within the United States.
2. Our service which is hosted in the UK based web servers, will be invoking this Visa Direct API to send payouts. Does this mean, the OCT transaction is originating from UK? Is it possible for OCT to originate from UK? If so, will this work with Visa Direct if it originates from UK?
Origination is determined based on the merchant/service provider’s country and is not based on where they are connected from.
Upon meeting the requirements for Visa Direct, training can be provided on how Visa transaction works, how acquiring works and what will be needed to do to pull/push from other card networks, as well.
4. Also, is there any limit on the amount that we can send to these cards via Visa Direct API?
Yes. There are transaction limit controls for money transfer (P2P) and non-money transfer (disbursements), and daily, weekly and monthly limits.
Hi Diana,
We are a UK based company (registered in England and Wales) and we have a website for one of our products through which we are looking to initiate pay outs.
1. Does the fact that our business is based in the UK mean we cannot make use of Visa Direct API to send pay outs globally?
2. If so, can we not achieve our requirements by setting up a bank account in the U.S. from where the pay outs can be funded and sent to the debit / credit cards of type Visa, Mastercard, Maestro etc globally?
3. According to you, are we, the business wanting to send pay outs to the cards, the merchants here?
4. Assuming by now, you have got an idea of who we are and what we are trying to achieve, can you please tell me given the following can we achieve direct pay outs to the cards or not?
a. Our business is based in the UK.
b. Our website is hosted on the webservers in the UK.
c. We setup a bank account in the US to fund the global card pay outs triggered through our website in UK.
d. We send pay outs to debit / credit cards (of type Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) issued by any card issuing banks across the world (and not just US) from this US based bank account which is triggered by our website in UK.
Is the above achievable through the Visa Direct API or not?
Thanks.
