Attention D.C. developers, designers and entrepreneurs! Visa and the Small Business Administration (SBA) is heading back to host the 2nd annual #SmallBusinessWeek Hackathon May 3-5, as part of the National Small Business Week.
Developers for Disaster Relief
This time, we hope to enable solutions and apps that help America’s small businesses prepare and/or recover from major natural disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, tornados, snowstorms or earthquakes.
Here's Your Challenge
Small businesses face a wide variety of challenges as they recover from natural disasters including:
- Restoring their revenue stream
- Gaining access to funds for both short term and long term recovery
- Paying employees
- Finding suppliers still in operation
- Dealing with Disruption to Communications & Service such as Electricity
Join us to help develop concepts that would help business owners prepare and/or recover from major natural disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, tornados, snow storms or earthquakes. Make use of API's from Visa, the U.S. Government, and third parties to build an impactful new tool.
Plus, compete for a chance to win a piece of the $60K prize pool! Event is totally free, just bring your laptop and hackathon energy.
