Hello,
I'm getting started to use Visa Checkout, my website is a ONG that it'll receive donation. The button of Visa Checkout is in the webiste, but where do I put the bank/wallet that will receive the donation? This option just appear when the project is live? How long does it take for the project go to live?
Thanks.
Hi @Simone_BB,
If you wish to integrate with Visa Checkout, please follow the integration guides below.
https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/visa_checkout/docs
Visa Checkout is not currently running any promotions or facilitating integration assistance for donations. Please remember you need to have an active merchant acquiring account to process Visa Checkout transactions.
After you submit the Going Live request, it gets reviewed by our product team. There is no set timeline on how long it takes for the product team to review the request, because the request is reviewed case by case.
If you need further assistance, please send an email to developer@visa.com and someone will connect you to the Visa Checkout team.
How i create or get a merchant acquiring account? And where I put in the visa checkout/dashboard this information the merchant ID?
Hi @Simone_BB,
I'll take a look and get back to you soon!
Hi @DianaTran-Yee,
I'll be waiting your answer!
Thanks.
Hi @Simone_BB,
Please see my inline answer to your question below.
Question: How do i create or get a merchant acquiring account? And where do I put in the visa checkout/dashboard this information the merchant ID?
Answer: A Merchant Acquiring Account is not directly available through Visa or Visa Checkout. Merchants interested in accepting online payments should start by contacting their local bank or other financial institution.
Typically, a Merchant Service Provider (also known as an acquiring bank or "acquirer") is a bank or financial institution that allows a merchant to accept credit or debit card payments, and assigns a payment "processor" for this purpose. See the following link for more information: https://ecommerce-platforms.com/ecommerce-selling-advice/what-is-difference-between-a-payment-gatewa...
This means that your website must have the capability of processing credit cards on its own through its standard checkout process before you can integrate Visa Checkout. Visa Checkout works together with a merchant service provider and gateway to complete a transaction.
This information isn't added to the Visa Checkout dashboard. With proper integration, Visa Checkout transactions are included with transactions received throught the site's standard checkout process, into the merchant's MSP account.
Visa Checkout is not a stand-alone payment gateway and cannot be used in that manner.

After setting up an account (your old V.me Visa account will work with checkout), you can register any debit or credit card for instant access. Once you're on a website that supports Visa Checkout, you simply tap or click the Visa Checkout logo in order to pay for your products instantly.
To integrate Visa Checkout for receiving donations on your website, you'll need to set up a relationship with a Visa Checkout partner through the Visa Developer Center. Once you sign in and select your project from the Dashboard, you can configure the settings to specify the bank account or wallet where the donations will be transferred. The process of setting up Visa Checkout involves obtaining an API key and shared secret which are used to authenticate your integration.
The time it takes for the project to go live can vary depending on several factors, including how quickly you complete the integration and pass the necessary compliance and security checks. It's important to follow the Getting Started with Visa Checkout guide on the Visa Developer website to ensure you meet all the requirements for going live.
For detailed guidance and support during the integration process, and to understand where exactly you configure your bank account information, you should refer to the Visa Checkout Integration Guide or contact Visa Checkout support through the Visa Developer Center.
