Visa API for resolving disputes

Hi everyone,

Me and my team are currently using Visa Resolve Online (VROL) portal for dealing with chargebacks. The proccess is very manual, and is taking a long time. We would like to work with some API,  but we were not able to find any specific API for chargeback on Visa Developer Center. Are there any APIs for VROL or the future VCR (Visa Claims Resolution), so that we don't need to use the portal all the time?

Regards, Igor!

It also looks like you are interested and inquiring about APIs that deal with chargebacks, since that's the case, here are some APIs that could be a a good fit for your business case. Please see the API documentation links provided below.

Also, please check our website for specific APIs relevant to your business case https://developer.visa.com/

However, it is important to know that to implement Visa Direct APIs, you will need to please review the Visa Direct documentation via this link - https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/visa_direct/docs and, in particular, see the top few paragraphs shaded in yellow that discuss the requirements to use Visa Direct.

After reading the documentation, if you meet those requirements, please click through the link in those paragraphs to the Visa Direct Program Implementation Questionnaire, fill it out, and submit to the email address listed on that form.

Re: Visa API for resolving disputes

Hi Diana, thanks a lot for the answer! Although these APIs you sent might be helpful, we need something that fully integrates with Visa Resolve Online. I heard something about RTSI for VROL and VCR, but I was not able to find anything on developer.visa.com. I also heard that Visa will be launching a new API for Visa Resolve Online on the next weeks. Do you know if thats really going to occur?

Re: Visa API for resolving disputes

Hello @igor_mendes

VMPI API will be available in coming weeks. Please check back on Visa Developer Center in coming weeks to see the availability of the product. For now, you can read an overview of the API at this link - https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/vmpi

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

Vaibhav

Re: Visa API for resolving disputes

Hi,

I am confused. As a merchant we see a big decrease in chargebacks since April 15th across all our processors (which is nice) but we can't tell if this is the VCR effect or not.

Quick question, how is the VCR supposed to have been implemented on April 15th if the VMPI API is not yet ready?

Isn't this an issue, especially for the issuers?

It may be off topic, but an answer would be extremely helpful

Thanks

Re: Visa API for resolving disputes

Hello @Zaw

Before I can answer to your first questions, we would like to know more about your company. I am confirming that VCR was rolled out. VCR is not a prerequisite of VMPI API but it is a related product. VCR is for processor and issuers whereas VMPI is available for Merchants. VMPI being available for merchant is that so they can have more control over VCR.

To provide you an answer to the first question you asked. Can you please provide me some information on the questions listed below.

  • Company legal name and address?
  • URL?
  • Your role?
  • Your email address associated with the company?
  • Which countries will your application be used in?
  • Who are the processors that you are currently working with?
  • Do you have a relationship with Visa (if yes, please provide the name)?
  • Are you a merchant, acquirer, issuer, or process?

You can also send me your response at Developer.visa.com and we can take this conversation via email channel if you like.

Thank you,

Vaibhav
