API call to issue a new card?

I am trying to determine the API to be used in the process of issuance of a new Visa card.

That scenario is illustrated in this page.

https://developer.visa.com/use-cases/enable-generation-of-dcvv2-codes-token-provisioning

It looks like it would be in the DPS family of APIs.  However I cannot find an API that would take in stuff like Name, address, SSN etc. that would be needed to issue a new card.

I have tried examining the API under DPS (https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/dps-card-and-account-services/reference#dps-card-and-account...) but do not find any that accept demographic info

Any help would be appreciated

Re: API call to issue a new card?

Hi @asaldanha,

We currently do not have an API on Visa Developer for card issuance, unfortunately. The Visa dCVV2 Generate API enables issuers to request dynamic CVV2 codes for existing cards. The APIs under DPS are only available to DPS clients and currently there isn't a DPS card issuing API offered on Visa Developer.

Re: API call to issue a new card?

Thanks for the response.

We are in the process of getting on board with Visa. If there is no API how is a new card issued ?  Through a Visa application?

Thanks

Re: API call to issue a new card?

Hi @asaldanha,

If you are trying to launch a card program to issue Visa debit/prepaid/credit cards, please work with your Visa representative on the onboarding process. Your Visa rep should be able to help you navigate the onboarding process.
