Unable to Create a project. Fails at the CSR private key submit button. Fails on both Safari/Chrome

Hi,

I am creating my first project. I filled in all the blocks, less than 1000 characters, chose an API and hit create project.

next the dialog box about creation of the private key is shown, when I hit the submit button I am taken back to the create project screen with the error "We're sorry, the following error has occurred." "Errors.server.common.undefined"

I tried using both safari and chrome, on two different computers

Re: Unable to Create a project. Fails at the CSR private key submit button. Fails on both Safari/Ch

Hey there @Vanderdecken,

Can you please try again with the following steps to resolve the issue:
1.     Clear the cache and cookies from your web browser and re-login at https://developer.visa.com/portal/auth/login
2.     Use another web browser (Google Chrome, IE, etc.)
3.     Try entering a Project Name using letters only
4.     Please limit the Project Description to 1000 characters
5.     Please limit invalid characters or symbols that could be causing this error
6.     Please select at least one API by check marking a checkbox
7.     Select the option ‘Generate a CSR for me (default)’

If you're still experiencing an issue, please take a screenshot of the information that you're trying to submit and send it to me for further investigation. Hope that helps!

Thanks,

Diana H.

I did it as you asked but still, the same result, can't get past the point of which I say okay to download the key

Hey @Vanderdecken,

You can also try using Google Chrome in incognito mode and clear cookies and cache. That could help to resolve the issue your experiencing.

Thanks,

Diana H.

Re: Unable to Create a project. Fails at the CSR private key submit button. Fails on both Safari/Ch

Hi

I cleared everything in both Safari and Chrome. I tried incognito mode. I tried with safari cleared out. Still not working. I just want to start a project.  I am selecting the Visa Direct API, do I need to select another one or more than one?

Re: Unable to Create a project. Fails at the CSR private key submit button. Fails on both Safari/Ch

Hi @Vanderdecken,

Thanks for letting us know you are interested in working with Visa Direct APIs for your project.

Most importantly before you move forward with the troubleshooting steps I have provided below, please review the Visa Direct documentation using this link. https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/visa_direct/docs

Take a look at the top few paragraphs that are shaded in yellow that discuss the requirements to use Visa Direct.

After you read the documentation, if you meet those requirements, then click through the link in those paragraphs to the Visa Direct Program Implementation Questionnaire, fill it out, and submit to the email address listed on that form.

Next, please try the following to resolve the issue you are experiencing with creating a Visa Direct project:

  1. Remove extra spaces and do not press TAB
  2. Try using a different type of special character
  3. Try using a different Project Name and Project Description
  4. You can also try creating a project with a different API, then add the Visa Direct API to that same project. After Visa Direct is added to the project app, you can go ahead and delete the API that you have initially created the project with and keep the Visa Direct API within that same project. As a result, you will only have the Visa Direct API in that project.
    1. Log into your project dashboard and create a project using an API other than Visa Direct. Then on the right side click on the "Add API" button and select the Visa Direct API to add. After the Visa Direct API is added to the project, you will now have an option to "Delete" the API that you had initially created the project with. Click on "Delete".  Please note, you should only delete all the APIs from within a product category that you are not planning to use, but do not partially delete APIs from within a product category.
  5. If you're still getting an error, please provide me with the response request of the error received, screenshot and Correlation ID.

Here are the steps to get the Correlation ID using a Google Chrome browser.
1>Open Chrome menu.
2>Click on More tools then Developer tools.
3>Check the box to Preserve Log for the Network Tab.
4>Click on the error and go to the Headers.
5>You can find the Correlation ID in the network log.

Please note, that I, myself, have logged into VDP and I was able to create a Visa Direct project with no issue.

Thanks,

Diana H.
