Inquiry Regarding Visa In-App Provisioning and Visa Direct API Integration

Dear Visa Support,

I hope this message finds you well. I am working on a project enabling fund transfers between customers within our application. As part of this initiative, we are interested in exploring the possibility of using existing cards saved in a user's Visa Wallet to conduct these transfers.

We understand that Visa In-App Provisioning primarily focuses on adding new cards to the wallet. However, our scenario involves situations where users may already have cards saved in their Visa Wallet, and we aim to leverage these cards for fund transfers.

Could you please provide insights into whether using the cards already saved in a user's Visa Wallet to facilitate fund transfers via the Visa Direct API or any other relevant Visa services is possible? Additionally, we are keen to know if the vCardID field can be used with existing Visa Wallet cards for enhanced security and convenience during transactions.

Any guidance, documentation, or information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. We are committed to ensuring a seamless and secure user experience while adhering to Visa's guidelines and standards.

Thank you for your time and assistance. We look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Daniel M.

Hi @Danielmahyar,

To integrate Visa Direct, you'll have to meet its requirements highlighted in the box with the exclamation mark shown on the product's Getting Started with Visa Direct page here:  https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/visa_direct/docs-getting-started.

We have a dedicated Visa Direct support team that can answer your questions. You can contact them via email using the Visa Direct Regional Mailboxes below.

Re: Inquiry Regarding Visa In-App Provisioning and Visa Direct API Integration

Hi Diana, thanks for your reply. I can see that I have made a mistake writing my inquiry.

I meant to ask about integrating Apple and Google Wallet and VISA Direct. Is it possible to, e.g., pass information from Apple Wallet directly to VISA? The use case scenario would be something like this:

1) The user selects the amount of money to send

2) The user chooses a person to send to

3) When confirming the transfer, the Apple Pay pop-up comes and wants verification

4) When confirming via. Apple Pay information from Apple is sent to Visa (maybe VISA Direct?), and the transfer is complete

Is this scenario possible via existing API services? The only service that I found that enables the developer to do this is Stripe.

Regards,

Daniel

Re: Inquiry Regarding Visa In-App Provisioning and Visa Direct API Integration

Hi @Danielmahyar,

You can use Visa In-App Provisioning API with Visa Token Service. You can refer to this page for information: Getting Started with Visa In-App Provisioning API

Clients need to complete the necessary pre-requisites with each of the digital wallet providers they are looking to enable push provisioning for and the relevant issuer needs to be a participant in the Visa Token System. They need to have a mobile app published in the respective app stores and are able to publish an update. Clients need to make their own assessment on the required steps to be in compliance with the terms of the respective wallet provider and ensure that the latest requirements are satisfied by working directly with the digital wallet providers. For example, Apple may require Apple Pay In-App Provisioning entitlement on the app for distribution and all pay wallets require the 'Add to Wallet' button to meet their standard guidelines.

Thanks,

Tee
