Hello,
I am in the Software as a Service(SAAS) business model. i had 6 questions
1. will i be able to develop my own API following VISA API Docs and integrate the VISA payment gateway to my website to collect payments instead of using 3rd party like stripe, paddle, etc. In this case, do i use VISA Direct or something else ?
2. after a customer pays me using their credit card on my website, when will the money arrive on my business bank account
3. which nationalities are eligible to quality for the VISA API projects.
4. Which countries bank account can be used to collect the payment from customers
5. Finally, how many days does it take for my API to get approval from the VISA Developers team ?
6. what are the VISA fee structure, terms and conditions, and in which industries will i not be able to process payments, eg. (alcohol, gambling, software, adult industry, etc.)
I would really appreciate it if someone would reply to my questions. Thank you for your time.
Best

Hey @joyshaheb,
Please see my answers to your questions below.
Developing Your Own API and Integrating VISA Payment Gateway: Yes, you can develop your own API following the VISA API Docs and integrate the VISA payment gateway to your website to collect payments. For collecting payments, you would typically use VISA Direct. VISA Direct facilitates the transfer of funds directly to bank accounts, cards, and wallets.
Money Arrival Time: The time it takes for the funds to arrive in your business bank account after a customer pays using their credit card can vary. It generally depends on the acquiring bank and the payment processor you are using. Typically, it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 business days for the funds to be available in your account, but this can vary based on the specific arrangements you have with your payment processor.
Eligible Nationalities for VISA API Projects: Eligibility for using VISA APIs is not restricted by nationality. However, the availability of certain services and products may vary by country and/or region. Here's a link to the Regional Availability of the API products.
Eligible Countries for Bank Accounts: You can use bank accounts from countries where VISA operates and supports transactions. The exact list of countries can be found on the VISA Developer website or by contacting VISA support. Generally, VISA has a broad global reach, so many countries' bank accounts are supported.
Approval Time for VISA API: The approval time for your API can vary. The review process doesn't have a defined timeline because it's depends on the complexity of your project and the thoroughness of your application.
VISA Fee Structure, Terms, and Conditions: The fee structure for using VISA's payment services can include various charges such as transaction fees, service fees, and possibly integration fees. Detailed terms and conditions, including prohibited industries, can be found in the VISA Developer's documentation and terms of service. Generally, industries such as alcohol, gambling, and adult content may have restrictions or require additional compliance measures. It is crucial to review the specific guidelines provided by VISA to ensure your business complies with their policies.
