I'm trying to get a proof-of-concept working for the Flexible Token API (against the sandbox environment).
It seems I've almost got there, but I'm getting the following error:
Error getting token: XMLHttpRequest Error: 403 Forbidden {"responseStatus":{"status":403,"reason":"TOKENIZATION_ERROR","message":"Tokenization provider error: Recurring Billing or Secure Storage service is not enabled for the merchant","correlationId":null,"details":[]},"_links":{"self":null,"documentation":[],"next":[]}}
Does something need to be enabled on my account in order to get this to work?
Thanks!
Daniel

Hi Dan,
Are you existing Cybersource Merchant? If Yes!Please provide your Merchant ID to get an access for you. if not, then share correlation ID and screen shots of an error at developer@visa.com
Thanks
Sanobar
Is "email our support team" the recommended way to fix this? Why?
I am also trying to set up a proof-of-concept of Flex Tokenization with Cybersource. All I want to do is successfully create a Token.
I am also being blocked by: 'Tokenization provider error: Recurring Billing or Secure Storage service is not enabled for the merchant.'
This thread is the only resource I have been able to find that talks about this problem. And it has no steps on how to fix it.
From this thread, it looks like the answer is "Email us, and in 2 days you'll be unblocked."
In my case, our Cybersource Technical Account Manager was able to enable that for us.
You can also log into the Cybersource Business Center, go to Support Center, and create an eTicket, telling them you need to enable tokenization and mentioning that error "Tokenization provider error: Recurring Billing or Secure Storage service is not enabled for the merchant."
Unfortunately I don't think they provide a way to do it directly.
I hope the documentation on these APIs will be greatly improved in the near future. Use of these sorts of RESTful APIs is much more modern and less complex than having to deal with the Cybersource post-back or SOAP APIs, which are pretty out-dated. Hopefully the APIs themselves will mature as well, as it seems they are lacking functionality (like providing customer information when creating a token, and doing a full authorization at the same time). Would be nice if Cybersource offered them directly as well (they are owned by Visa, but having to go through Visa separately for the APIs makes things more complicated). Anyway, just some "on-the-side" feedback to Visa/Cybersource 🙂
I am using VDC api to integrate with cybersource. But getting following error.
Tokenization provider error: Recurring Billing or Secure Storage service is not enabled for the merchant
I tried login in Cybersource Business center but don't know the username / password. I can see the merchant-id in VDC dashboard.
My cybersource merchant Id is sapient_pawan__63824
Is there a way to get the tokenization enabled for this merchant id?
I'm trying to place the order using the CyberSource payment method (From the sandbox environment).
But I'm getting the following error:
Error getting token: XMLHttpRequest Error: 403 Forbidden {"responseStatus":{"status":403,"reason":"TOKENIZATION_ERROR","message":"Tokenization provider error: Recurring Billing or Secure Storage service is not enabled for the merchant","correlationId":null,"details":[]},"_links":{"self":null,"documentation":[],"next":[]}}
Does something need to be enabled on my account in order to get this to work?
Kindly give me access as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Mahalakshmi M
I am also facing the same issue, can you please enable tokenization for my Merchant.
